I launched my book, The Social Diet at the 5th World Autism Organizational Congress in Houston this week. What an honor to be there among other international experts to hear what they are doing in their countries and to share with them my life’s work. Dr. Stephen Shore was among the Key Note Speakers and I was honored to have him endorse my book on an international stage.
I got great feedback from the audience – all complimenting my passion and love for my family and my work. I had my children, Yael and Ylann present with me. I could not have been there without them. Ylann shared his love letter that he wrote when he was 12 years old and knocked the socks off for our listeners. So many people came up to me to commend The Social Diet and thanked me for introducing it to the world. They too agreed that the world needs more heartfelt connections. One line I remember saying, “The world needs more love letters, and less hate or pointing fingers.”
The Social Diet is the curriculum for teaching all children, even our special need children, how to be more socially connected, well balanced and caring kids.
It was so amazing to be a part of this International Conference. Together we are building a better world.
